Last Name, First Name between books and music

In my book collection, when I enter an author's name, it sorts them by
last name for me even if I enter them in the common manner, ie: William
Faulkner is listed as Faulkner, William which is what you want....you
want to search in F for him, not in W.

 

However, in my CD collection artists are listed alphabetically by their
First name so George Jones would be listed that way and be in the G's.
This isn't what I want, I want it to be like books where I can type in
George Jones but it gets listed by artist as Jones, George.  I realize
that with music there is an additional concern that books don't have,
namely the author can be a named group of people.  We don't want Lynyrd
Skynyrd listed in the S's as Skynyrd, Lynyrd.  Is there a solution for
this or am I stuck manually correcting solo artists so they appear
alphabetically by last name in my collection?
