Well, having played with Berkeley DB fairly recently, it's certainly not
an SQL-based one, so I'm not sure it provides the sort of features Robby
wants. Don't misunderstand me, I really like BDB, it's just not what we
need here. Anyway, Robby seems to have gone for libkexidb, so it's pretty
much pointless.

I've kept silent on the subject since the whole "let's transition to my
favorite database" started, as I'm not a specialist on the subject.
However, there is one thing which I think is important from an end-user
point of view :
Whatever the back-end is, Tellico must keep working the way it does
currently. That is : install it, run it, start a collection. That's all,
no need to setup anything, no need for a MySQL, Oracle or PostgreSQL
server running somewhere which is a nightmare to setup for inexperienced
users. I believe it's part of what made Tellico a success. As long as this
feature is present, it will keep me a very happy user :) (and not just
maintainer).

If it can be set up to use an external DB engine, great, but the default
way should remain "standalone". Kexi seems to be designed to work this
way, so I'm all for it :)
