Secondary grouping has been on my list of capabilities to add for a bit. I 
just haven't done it yet. :P

Hold down Ctrl to select multiple entries, or drag the selection. 
RIght-click and "Edit Entries" or use the Collection menu action. If a 
field is disabled, that means the entries you selected have different 
values for that field. If it's not disabled, then they all have the same 
value. You can enable a field by clicking the small checkbox next to it. 
Clicking Save will modify that field for all the selected entries.
