Saving the images in the data directory is probably safer, I would say. The 
problem with lost images occurred with ones saved in the .tc file instead. 
So it's a trade-off between speed/integrity and archive convenience.

And yes, obviously, I don't want Tellico randomly losing images. What were 
the symptoms? Did it complain about the missing images, or did they not 
actually get referenced? And did you lose them from the .tc file itself or 
were you saving them in the data directory? Do you have the cover column 
visible in the detailed view (top right) ? That turned out to be improtant 
last time.
