data directory for image files: let the user choose?

hi

as my collection grew above a couple hundred, tellico (a
distribution-packaged 1.2.8) gave me the choice to get the front
covers out of the file and into a separate directory, for speed /
performance reasons, which makes sense (at least until tellico makes the
switch to sqlite, then they could stay as blobs and it would still be
enormously faster)

the thing is: the images seem to be stored in
~/.kde/share/apps/tellico/data/
along with two or so gradient pictures for gui use.

it would be nice if the user could choose the directory for the
images himself and tellico would store the user-chosen path in
the tellico file.
the way it is right now, the collection data becomes non-portable from
the moment on where the images are stored in a directory.
(i currently resort to softlinking ~/.kde/share/apps/tellico/data/
to my actual image directory, but that's dirty)

regards,
Juju
