problem with BibTeX file import and export

I don't know of any problems with bibtex import. Can you send me the bibtex 
file directly?

Maybe the book didn't have a bibtex key, and the "skip empty keys" was 
checked? I just tried with 1.3.5 and it seemed to work for my test files.
