File catalog, URL field, why gimp opens pdf files?

Tellico will use whatever the KDE file association for pdf files is. In the
KDE Control Center, find the File Association page. Type in pdf, select it,
then in the "application preference order" move kpdf or evince or whatever
up above gimp.
Now, if you're using GNOME, I'm not sure how to edit the KDE file
associations. Can you install the KDE control center? kcontrol?
