File catalog, URL field, why gimp opens pdf files?

Try the command
kcmshell filetypes
and edit the pdf settings maybe?
Or even
keditfiletype application/pdf

From some internet searches, it appears that this question comes up often.
Tellico should probably use the xdg-open command if available on the
system. I think that might be taken care of automatically for kde4.
