Yes. I rebuilt the version of today, and had it work !
However, now that it's working, I have another request ;-)
It seems that for new CD imported, the table of tracks is limited to 6.
First the others are not imported, and then when you add them manually,
tellico strip them out of the XML file (even if It didn't removed my
former tracks in my former 1500 CDs !!)

Probably. However, on my Mandriva system here is what I get:
> rpm -qf /usr/share/locale/fr/LC_MESSAGES/amarok.mo
amarok-2.0.2-2mdv2009.1
So I guess your messages file should just be provided and installed in
that place by the package. Let me know if you think I can help for this.
For the moment I don't see them in my tellico tar file.
