Welcome to the Novell Forge site for the Novell/SUSE Xen Technical Preview.

The xen technical preview is intended to allow interested users the deployment 
on both Xen and SUSE Linux products in a test environment.

Main goals of the project are:

- to allow users to evaluate the installation, configuration and use of a 
paravirtualized system with different Novell products

- collect user feedback for future directions and improvements

NOTE: the code provided here is preview or beta level quality and is not 
supported. It is not intended to be used for purposes other than evaluation.

The original intention has changed from using Xen 2.0.x and SUSE Linux 
Enterprise Server 9 SP2 towards starting with Xen 3.0 and SUSE Linux 10.0 
based on internal and external feedback.

Xen 3.0 will offer advanced capabilities vs Xen 2.0. Developement will occur 
based on the code of Xen 3.0. SUSE Linux 10.0 includes kernel 2.6.13 and Xen 
3.0 (cvs version). SUSE Linux code base will evolve to SUSE Linux Enterprise 
Server 10 code base in 2006.

For the time being we provide links, packages and documentation to setup a 
SUSE Linux 10.0 domain0 with Xen 3.0. We will provide updates to the packages 
as we progress.

For Q1/2006 we intend to provide packages which allow SUSE Linux 10.0 and Xen 
3.0 in domain0 and SLES 9 SP3 Xen 3.0 in an unprivileged domain. The preview 
will finally result in a beta test with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 and 
final release.
