[xenpreview-dev] Xen hang on SLES10 RC1

Hi, Lynn
I've done some tets and finally it seems not to be xen related. It seems
related to some issue mounting DVD discs. I've tried booting from
default kernel and simply mount the dvd from command line. The system
then starts to go too slowly while trying to mount the disc. The hard
disk starts to scratch and DVD led starts to flash once a second.
The system stays in this state until the mount is aborted manually.
Running top shows the system totally idle. No swap used. Half ram not
used. Is like the system is doing nothing. It's odd behavior...
In the other hand, mounting CD's in the same DVD drive, goes sweet.
Thus, I suspect that should be some kind of hardware configuration
issue. I'll invstigate.
Many thanks.
Amado.

Hi,
I tried to duplicate this and was unsuccessful. Perhaps if you sent
some more detailed hardware information it will be obvious to someone
what is causing your problem. It appears to me to be hardware related.
If you are able to determine the hardware issue then you will probably
run into the the install tries to use the installation source DVD as
its installation destination problem which is easily worked around by
changing your destination from hdb to hda. This last bug is fixed in
RC2.
Regards,
Lynn
