Hello,

I am trying to create a domU using LVM-backed VBD instead of a File-backed VBD using Yast. Not exactly sure how to proceed. I have already created my Volume Group (system) and corresponding Logical Volume (vm1) which shows the device as /dev/system/vm1. On the "Create New Disk Image" page I selected the following:

  Virtual Disk: hda
  Disk Image Directory: /dev/system/vm1
  Maximum Size in MB: 4096

Unchecked the following:

  - Create Sparse Image File
  - Read-Only Access

This set the following hda source (my vm name was postgresqlvm1)

  /dev/system/vm1/postresqlvm1/hda

After completing all of the configuration settings and beginning the install from CDs, I eventually get the following error:

Cannot create the following disk image:
  /dev/system/vm1/postgresqlvm1/hda

Please, ensure there is enough free disk space to create the specified disk image.

>From a variety of items I have read, it appears you have to create the file system yourself if you set this up manually. I assume creating the file system is handled by Yast though although maybe I am wrong. Has anyone done this via Yast and can provide some high level steps I need to follow? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Steven
