[xenpreview-dev] DHCP issues in Xen Yast Installation

Removing the mac address from the "vif" line in the config file helped
me workaround this problem...

Replace "vif = [ 'type=ioemu, mac=00:16:3e:00:00:11, bridge=xenbr0' ]"
with "vif = [ 'type=ioemu,bridge=xenbr0' ]"

If the above doesn't work please make sure XEN dom0 has virtual network
working by looking into "ifconfig". It should atleast have xenbr0 and
vif<domid>.0 (along with eth0, peth0 etc) listed;
I noticed that if your Ethernet interface on Dom0 is not eth0 (no eth0
in ifconfig output) instead something else like eth2 or eth3 - network
is not working in VMX domains(dhcp doesn't work etc).

If everything is good, please try static IP addresses instead of DHCP.

U probably already referred this

Subject: [xenpreview-dev] DHCP issues in Xen Yast Installation

Hi,

I'm using SUSE 10.1. When I use Yast to install a new Xen image and the
OS installation starts, it fails because it cannot obtain an IP address
(using dhcp). I do have a DHCP server here, what am I doing wrong?

Rian
