Brian,

I got CC'd on your email, but since you're not subscribed it didn't get
posted to the list.  (I guess it's set up that way for spam reasons...
maybe we should change that).  Even worse, the manager of the list is on
vacation, so your message was just sitting in the queue.  Sorry.


But regarding your question:

This is a known bug with YaST's "Install Into Directory" feature
(Novell bug #170064).  It sounds like this won't be addressed until SP1.
 For now, you can't use that feature to install a kernel into a
directory.

Even if it weren't for this bug, we don't recommend using "Install Into
Directory" to create a VM.  Use the "Virtual Machine Management" tool,
since it will automate a number of additional steps.
