yes that also would work, the installation started!

But I made the installation in Qemu 0.81 where it worked too and than 
used this image for my Xen-installation!

 > After installation, you can disable the splash screen in grub.
I had to comment out the line "gfxmenu (hd0,0)/message"
in /boot/grub/menu.lst to get it working but now everything is working 
as expected - there is no preboot-welcome-screen anylonger and the 
grub-menu is textbased!
