Hi,

I'm running

xenia:/root>>> cat /etc/SuSE-release
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (i586)
VERSION = 10
xenia:/root>>> uname -a
Linux xenia 2.6.16.14-6-xen #1 SMP Tue May 9 12:09:06 UTC 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

i.e. SLES10 RC1.

I'm trying to start a guest, which I installed using yast dirinstall.

xenia:/root>>> cat /etc/xen/celles
name     = "celles"
memory   = 512
kernel   = "/boot/vmlinuz-xen"
ramdisk  = "/boot/initrd-xen"
root     = "/dev/hda1"
extra    = "3"
vif      = [ 'mac=aa:cc:00:00:00:01, bridge=xenbr0' ]
disk = [ 'file:/xen/abba/hda,hda1,w' ]
nics=1

Unfortunately all I get is

xenia:/root>>> xm create -c /etc/xen/celles
Using config file "/etc/xen/celles".
Warning: The nics option is deprecated. Please use an empty vif entry instead:

  vif = [ '' ]

Error: Device 769 (vbd) could not be connected. Backend device not found.
xenia:/root>>>

Someone on the Xen users list suggested to enhance the number of loop
devices. Now I have

xenia:/root>>> dmesg | grep loop
loop: loaded (max 64 devices)

but I still cannot boot celles.

Any hints really appreciated !

Kind regards

Gerd
